Welcome to the Blog, everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
So, introductions are in order. I’m Kryss, I’m 26 years old, and I’ve been playing Tabletop Role-Playing Games on-and-off for about six years now. My first experience was with the first edition of Pathfinder, and I’ve been a fan Fifth Edition Dungeons and Dragons for few years; I’ve recently began playing a game at my local comic book store but those stories are for another day.
I began my 5th Edition adventures by stumbling on an episode of Critical Role during a rough day. This has lead to many a sleepless Thursday nights, listening to the streams on YouTube to play catch up, and flipping through the Player’s Handbook every chance I could get. Even though I’m a recent-ish fan in this game, I’ve had the idea of making a blog like this for awhile. Yeah, yeah, there’s plenty of other sites and videos that do a breakdown of the Player’s Handbook, but if my way of explaining things can help someone get a better handle on the game, then that would be amazing!
Okay, now it’s time for the nitty-gritty stuff. The blog will be officially open on Monday, May 6th [5/6]. I’ll be posting between 3-4 times a week and the breakdown will be as follows:
- Mondays [“Beginner’s Basics”]: This will be breaking down the in-game mechanics listed in the Players Handbook, along with some general tips and advice while actually playing the game.
- Wednesdays [“Class Tactics”/”So You Wanna Play A___”]: This is where we’ll look through the different races and classes you can choose from during character creation and during gameplay. “Class Tactics” will be the Class breakdown, “So You Wanna Play A___” will be about Races.
- Fridays [“Practice Run”]: This is where I’ll give an example of a level three character based on Wednesday’s content.
- Sundays [Roll for Thoughts]: This is just some fun prompts for you guys to think about during the week, nothing too serious.
All I have left to say is that I hope you’ll enjoy this adventure with me. Like I said, there’s bunches of other places that are like this, but if I end up making you guys curious and you start enjoying Dungeons&Dragons or other games like it, then I’ve done my job.
Have a good week, take care of yourselves, and may you always roll high my friends!
